INTO THE WILD

I guess sometimes we just have to be a little more adventurous. All you need to do is putting all the risks away and go explore something you are not familiar with.

3 hours train from Glasgow to Oban, the first time. Scenic view from the train, the casual food service and the old cushioned seat. That journey was a joyful one. Seafood can never be missed in Oban. Yes, I mean big mussels, fresh lobster tails and juicy langoustines.

It is a chilling small town that is richly preserved with authentic architecture in a small community. The age population is wee bit older.

Isle of mull was a great place for wild camping. 45 minutes ferry to the island, the sun was warm enough to rip away my frown.

The density in the island is even lesser than Oban. Stand alone houses are scattered along the main road, not to mention the hot bath and sauna of Craignure. An hour walk that lead us to a breath-taking golf coast next to a riverbank, unattended, which become a perfect place to camp.

It feels almost like we are the only living organisms around us.

Looking towards the coast made me more than being excited. It was a motion painting, almost unbelievable. The atmosphere was brilliant. Whilst enjoying the natural touch, the sense of water flowing, the sunset, we cheered our beer with mother nature.

At night, she greeted us with a sky fulled with stars, very magical to see but too cold to be outside the tent. terrifyingly quiet together with the gentle water flowing acoustics. it was a peaceful sleep.

I guess the point is that,

without actually doing it, I wouldn't have know that surviving in the wild can be that amazing. And aye, Scotland's charm will never fail to surprise me.

When was your last trip getting in touch with nature?

值得记载的一天

这绝对是新一年里的好兆头,一件能让我喜出望外的好事情。
为什么这么说?

WELL

COMBO DELIGHT

18 and 19 May of 2013, the meaningful coincidence of happiness just taken its part of my life. The days that full of great joy; where people were sending their greetings and wishes to me, waterfall posts on facebook wall and numerous sms from friends and relatives. A big thank you to all of you once again.

my degree convocation was really exciting. A grand, big and memorable event that may not happened to everyone, I'm glad that i had one. Looking at mum's and dad's delightful joy just made everything even more meaningful. Standing tall, wearing convocation robe and hat, went up on stage and shake hands with Counsellor, i hope I have made them proud.

Somehow, i metaphor myself as an investment, something equivalent to a share or a bond. Dad invested his money on me, and he got his first dividend that day. Of course, it was a dear investment and time consuming shit. Dragging yet non-guaranteed success. But dad n mum still trusted me and putting faith on me, and be my long term shareholders. I'm a lucky boy, like i could own the world and excel to the universe, which the energy sources are installed with bottomless loves. Mum, Dad, u both deserved everything from me.

Next, they are my friends that really worth mentioning here. Those who had come to share the joyful moment, despite the fact of distance, time and killing hot weather. Deric offered his accommodation, n celebrated my birthday eve with a bucket of beers n a piece of roti canai. Piyao made herself appeared in my convo even though she had to take a taxi. She offered to be my photographer right up to i have returned my robe and certificate. Christina and Kevinder showed up to surprise me, together we chat a lot and had lunch. Chee Yi, paying her returns from my visit to her convo with 2 presents, spreading her positive aura to me like she always do. Unfortunately, some of my important friends and bros couldn't make it. It was a little disappointed though.

Classmates were looking real good, each and everyone one of them. Everyone was smartly dressed, sharing their big day with family and friends. Guess that's what is all about, and it was certainly something we would love to see. It may be the last time we see and talk to each other, which we called ourselves as Taylorians. Too bad that some of our classmates who joined us after their diploma were not able to join the convo, and lecturers were not there to take picture with us.

My birthday was blessed. There is no big party, no club dancing or hangovers, but simple family dinner. We went back to the restaurant that we used to dine a lot in the past, the boss didnt able to recognize us already haha. Cakes, red eggs, are always there for the birthday budaks in our family. Little things but cheering. Leong's way to embrace me.

That's all about the combos. I know life is short, so happiness is what to make it worth living. I love you guys, that gave positives impact (well sometimes negative too haha) to me from time to time. Lets see what future awaits me. Big plans to come!

KOREA TRIP 2011 pt2

The weather is really cold now. Well, our 3rday started off with National Museum of Korea. The building was pretty huge. I did compared our Malaysia Muzium with theirs, hmm. what can i say. It's 2 or 3 times bigger than ours of course, the exhibitions in Korea Museum are pretty well managed. standards are quite big different. One of the interesting stuff that catches my attention in Korea Museum is about the Korea Buddha, where a slightly different compare with the usually buddha we saw. The feature is different, but of course the background and the story behind is still the same.

After the museum, we headed to Dongdaemun for more buildings. We went to Zaha Hadid's cultural park to see the construction process, as well as another museum located nearby. Next stop is a stunning place: the iconic building of korea, N seoul tower! The tower is nice, and the happenings there is really charming, lively and full of young energetic spirits.................At night, shopping spreee! :D

Hari keempat, I have adopted the weather and the place. Kinda. it's still cooling, relaxing and of course stressless. haha. same breakfast again, and the day started off with a visit to DooJin Hwang architect firm/residence. A contemporary designer as well as a fighter of heritage essence. He gave us a presentation of his work, n yea learnt a lot from him about his concept, his approaches to the new era. His favor quote of mine: 'YOU CAN START YOUR OWN TRADITION, AS LONG AS TRADITION IS NOT YOUR GOAL'. I was thinking whether to have intern with him next year. I think it would be cool to learn from him. The day continued with visits to chongmyo shrines, myongdung streets, Kring building and dongdaemun at night to buy sounvenirs~

Last day of visiting around Seoul. this time we went to Korea's folk village, and yea it's my favourite place of the trip. Unlike those boring, obsolete, old props you can see in Malaysia, Their traditional village is very happening. You can see, you can play, and you can interact. Nice scenery surrounding the area. Let the pics speak themselve to you. After all its really really nice place. Then after lunch, we visited the fortress of a Korea.

Very very last day of the trip, still the same breakfast, but the mood is start tunning back to Malaysia channel again. Before leaving this wonderful place, we had a visit to Cheongnyangni River. It's a green strategy of the city to turn a river into a nice place for functions and all. The river is super crystal clear. You can even see fishes around. Malaysia? Hell No. haha. After that, we went to a store that sells all the products that you might wanna grab for parents and friends. N lastly, back to Incheon Airport and prepare to leave the charming city behind :(

Well, this trip is totally inspiring, at last i could see how a developed country works. How the community of a civilised era behave. I would say its uncomparable to Malaysia. Im kinda miss the food and the people there. And grateful to have parent's support on the trip. Well then, anyeong Korea! Hope to see you back some time later!

KOREA TRIP 2011 pt1

So last wednesday [28th of Sep ], I had my 6days travel with a bunch of coursemates to Seoul. Of course, the trip is along with 2 lecturers around since it is a school field trip. This might sound abit 'formal' to you where the lecturers are like GUIDES and look out for us, but thankfully it doesnt happen that way. I love how the trip is being led, giving freedom to us and the tour guide is doing a good job managing the time, ppl and places we went.
Seoul, as you know a developed city with full of high-rises and koreans that have high fashion sense. haha. The word 'Korea' could make you think of Kimchi, Plastic Surgeries, K-Pop, or Korean Drama. Well, these were my preception too.

1st day of trip was started of with Nami's Island tour, accompanied with an unpleasent raining day. It was abit disappointing. Pants and shoes are wet while enjoying the nice scenery of the place. For ur information, the place is famous with a long linear path with two rows of trees aside. The famous 'Winter Sonata' was shooted here few years back. The place has alot of installments as well. I'll call it a romantic one.The next stop is War Museum of Korea. The Museum had a densed feeling to me. Everything is kinda dull, but then the things that exhibit inside were really amazing. Esp the Original jets and ships were displayed at the exterior space. Only 2 places in the itenery of the day. We went out have a pleasent walk around our hotel and had our dinner. We went Lotte for shopping, eating street food like rice cake.. hmm. the feeling was damn nice!

the second day was like a 'looking foward' day, i cant wait to explore more places in Seoul. Well the weather gets abit colder everday. Cecilia(tour guide) warned us to wear at least 2 layers. lol. 1st place we went was Bukchon village, another hotspot of movies and drama. A famous linear sloppy street with traditional houses of Korea, or we called it 'hanoks' arranged in order, and most of them have been renovated with different new styles. Alot of architecture elements that we couldnt see anywhere in Malaysia can be found here. After that, we went for a place called 'Sarangi' (if not mistaken) a cotemporary museum that demonstrates Korea cultures, Korea house of parliment, etc. Lots of interactions between the visitors and the 'exhibitions'. lol. Next destination was GyeongBokGung palace which totally stunning. You can see the massive scale of a palace, the King's and Queen's palace etc. Unlike the usual palace that covered with golds, emerald or anything that is expressive,super-rich-material, the Korean ancient King's palace was rather humble. They don't show off powers of wealth to classify themselve a higher class. Which is really something people these days should learn. The day continued with a visit to a high point and have a seek of Korea cityview! That was totally awesome. though i forgot the name of the place but it's really nice to sit on the rock, taking fresh air into the lungs and a warm sun shines on you. yeeeeha!

stay tunned for part2!

JAY'S CONCERT 2011

PHEW! Just came back from the fabulous only one concert, Mr. Jay live in Malaysia 2011!

Seriously I cant pull myself out from the feeling right now. The concert is innovative in a way that they used the 3D effects, songs as usual are superbly good, n also the atmosphere is out of control. I cant hold myself from screaming in high pitch all the time haha. Once recalling it, it could still boils my blood wow.
We went there about 7.00pm n we thought we were late. Wenda's mum is right, we can still go on 8.00pm since we paid for the seats. But mayb we just cant wait to go inside n ready for the big show. N the show ended about 11.00pm, we went dinner/supper at AC after fetching Wenda's sisters home and Pheobe Tan joined along. Haha. She ordered keow teow but ended up with mee. So pitty.
A big thank you for my bro, Wenda that have got me the ticket! :D I think the ticket worthwhile for what we experienced in this 2 n a half hours!
Let the pictures speak themselve for the night. Definitely go for the next stop! FEVA JAY CHOU FOERVER!!!!!!
after the show: it's like ants everywhere!

FAMILY@ KL

It's been a great day hanging out with all family members and mum's side relatives. We had a great day gathered along and spent time in KL.

Well that's a reason that brought my family all the way from Ipoh to KL for a day. My uncle-my mum's elder bro-my Popo's eldest son had passed away last year december. N This is the day of 4th(if not mistaken) for us to pray him at the temple arround Ampang.

I really wish something like this wont happen again and i have to see my mum tears and being so worried that grandma couldnt overcome such shocking news. But all these have been passed, and all of us r ok now. Just we need to spend more time with grandma by avoiding her loneliness in KL.
Back to the story of the day, after spending some time in the temple: praying-settling payment stuff-so n so, I'm glad to see grandma was in good mood n ready to hangout with us all day long. She is cool. :)Well my cousin was leading the way for lunch. He took a big round around KL's busy street. I was wondering whether he did that on purpose or? haha. At last he brought us to Central Market, left our cars there, n walked to Petaling Street.
At first i was like what? Petaling street for family's gathering? Sounded weird right. It's so hot yet crowded. We used to go there only too seek for imitated goods. But who knows there is a placed to eat, n yes, with air-cond. :)

Thats the restaurant. We need to climb 3floors up to have our seat. abit dot.dot.dot...
Hmm this shop is quite famous with its hokkien mee. I could see some photos taken by the owner with celebrities. Which means, nice food. haha.
Finally, food are here. Just taken one of em which is the famous dish- DAI LOK MEE. Looks okok only. taste okok oso. it's good but not outstanding i would say. But for KL, it's considered as above average.

View from the restaurant- Petaling street's T junction

DAI-LOK MEE

My granny-the tough woman

Group photo of the day. Eveyone's getting tall n i m growing old!

After the super-full meal we took a light shopping arround the street. We bought some delicious durian pastries, n they are really nice! Mum bought some 'good-luck' plant for cny. so called-
风信子(风调雨顺-顺风顺水). Nice right?

Found some pretty roses there. There are so elegant and beautiful. Just like someone.

We went back Cheras and had dinner before going back to Ipoh. Auntie Forng dropped me at Taylor's before going back Rawang. N she quoted something that kept inside my heart. N i will do it. Hmm what a day right? This was such a good day to spent with the people u have no boundaries with. Like i said, family. warmest thing on earth. U could never found any other things like that. I appreciate it alot. N Leong Family, love yea! :)
